Split Second Unlearning "therapy"

What is the non-verbal, observation based method of "Split Second Unlearning" (SSU) by Matt Hudson and why is it powerful for you? Imagine being able to get help letting go of big overwhelming past events (trauma) from the comfort of your own home without having to talk about them.. how exciting and liberating would that be?

Before I write some more about SSU I would like to point out something. It is the experience of both myself as a health professional and a curious human with a past, several colleagues, my partner and other valuable sources that verbalizing past overwhelming experiences (trauma) is not only exhausting but actually counterproductive to healing. After reading this post the health professionals that follow me can read a scientific article on SSU here.

If you are curious how I ended up with all the powerful knowledge presented in this blog you can listen to my podcast episode "The story of my life as health professional" on Spotify or Fountain by clicking here.

The nefarious occult (hidden) agenda of psychiatry and psychology

Many seesons ago I rented out a room in my newly aquired apartment in central Copenhagen to a lovely, quiet but also mental-emotionally challenged girl who had just started studying psychology. She suffered from chronic pain and other things. During the 3 years as my roommate and a student I observed her state of mind get worse and worse.

One time I had a client referred to me from a colleague where I used to work in CPH because of my succes with the method of P-DTR. I called her name and went to take a seat. She came in but continued to stand just inside the doorway and asked me if I had talked with the colleague while looking extremely uncomfortable. I replied and eventually ended up asking her if she really wanted to be there with me to which she answered by grabbing her shoes and ran out of the room. Perplexed and curious I mentioned her "downstairs" to my colleagues and learned that she was a practicing psychologist.

In addition to stories like the above (there are more) I have many experiences testing clients using neurological manual muscle testing (NMMT) as taught by Jose Palomar, MD. The conclusion I have come to over many years is that on a deep subconscious and reflexive level "talking therapy" generally does not work. Often it is also exhausting for the therapist and client alike. Some people gain valuable insights into themselves, and some enjoy dumping their story and problems unto anyone listening, but still leave with their (unconscious) problem.

For the conditioned binary mind reading this; I do not write this simply to trash these approaches but to highlight that something is obviously not optimal here.. or working as designed? If that last part peaked your interest I recommend reading chapter 2 called "Shock and Stress" in the book "'Covid 19', Psychological operations, and the war for technocracy" which has now been accessed by a quarter of a million. Find it by clicking here (WARNING: Not for sensitive individuals!). You can also read the source called "PTSD: Time to heal" from my post "Change: Need help?".

I also do not mean to say that I have helped, or can help, everyone. On the contrary I have no doubt involuntary hurt clients on my own learning journey. I do however believe to now have found and understood very powerful approaches to real change and healing. Enter Split Second Unlearning..

Unlearning to find safety and health

I think the best way to explain SSU is with something practical first. Therefore I recommend you to download and try the MindReset app before continuing. To those "in the know" SSU is not simply Neuro Linquistic Programming (NLP) or EMDR which M.H. discusses in this article.

We have many bodily reflexes working all the time below our conscious awareness like balance, digestion and bloodflow. Our subconscious mind is also continuously scanning our environment, downloading and processing information at an incredible speed. All is needed for basic survival. One of many examples of this can be seen when Max Major programmed a judge and an entire audience outside of their awareness on "America's got talent". See the fascinating short clip here. For more of that you can watch the new documentary Planet Mind Control.

Joe Dispenza and many others describe that when overwhelming experiences happen the brain takes a snapshot of the event and the physical protective stress reaction gets "superglued" to the snapshot. M.H. has coined the term Emotional Memory Image (EMI) and describes it as an imprint stuck in your "mind's eye" or on your "subconscious screen" driving the bodily response. A neurological loop from the past with no expiration date. An important detail here is that the EMI sits outside your conscious awareness but... "the body expresses what the mind suppresses". Chew on that one for a minute ;)

Once created the EMI remains stuck on your "screen" driving bodily responses

Because you are a living human being something very scary or unpleasant happened to you earlier in your life. If you think about this very scary and unpleasant thing you might remember some of it or maybe not - but you might feel a subtle stress reaction in your body right now? Either way you did not notice that to access this memory your eyes had to fixate briefly on a certain point in your peri-personal space (like the windscreen infront of you in the car). This is an EMI and it is triggering a neurological loop that can drive anything from physical symptoms, dis-ease, behaviour and even sense of identify.

When we touch a hot stove or something too sharp we learn, in a split second, that this is dangerous, painful and not to be repeated. In the same way our subconscious mind can be programmed to perceive, or associate, certain things or behaviours with danger or pain. An example M.H. likes to use is a child comfortable and happy playing with a spider until his mother notices and suddenly freaks out and screams "stop!". The child, and later adult, might now be stuck with great fear of spiders. If you go to a playground and observe small children playing you will notice that often when they fall, or hurt themselves, they will look towards their parent before reacting.

If whatever happens is an overwhelming first-time experience an EMI will be created and stored outside of conscious awareness according to M.H.. Attached to the EMI is a protective stress respons and a specific non-verbal "signature" which includes eye position, breath, muscle tension etc. From my personal research in the clinic fractal patterns of sensory receptor sensitivities (mechanoreceptors, nociceptors etc.), as taught in P-DTR, are a part of this neurological loop aswell.. a nerdy sidenote for certain followers, sorry ;)

Fortunately it is also possible to unlearn in a split second! Even more amazing is that it does not require physical conctact or long exhausting "talking therapy". to wiggle loose the EMI and help your nervous system reset to a state of peace and coherence.. also known as the power of now. It works by asking simple questions to trigger and identify the "stress signature" followed by an interruption of the pattern in some way. As with many things in life timing is everything.
